Every day sees a fresh wave of media reports detailing the devastating effects of Covid-19 on the job market.
Just this week, Airbus and Tui warned of a ‘jobs bloodbath’ with Raytheon, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways also making headlines about potential job cuts. British Airways even went as far to say that they were still ‘fighting for survival.’
The full effects of the pandemic won’t be seen for a long time yet but many more jobs are expected to be lost throughout those directly employed in the industry and within the supply chain.
With the government’s job retention scheme set to close for all businesses by the end of next week and the uncertainty around quarantine rules has plunged the industry into even further turmoil.
