The impact of Covid-19 on employment in the worldwide aviation job market has already been devastating. The full effects of the pandemic are yet to be seen but tens of thousands of jobs are expected to be lost throughout those directly employed in the industry and within the supply chain.

Here we take a look at key insights into jobseekers using Aviation Job Search during July 2020.

  • 85% of aviation professionals cited their job was affected by the pandemic

  • 15.6% of aviation professionals were affected by being furloughed

  • 40.1% of aviation professionals were affected by being terminated

  • 19.5% of aviation professionals were affected by having reduced hours

  • 24.8% of aviation professionals were affected by being made redundant

 

  • 80.2% of aviation professionals have not been advised when they will return to work

  • 57.6% of aviation professionals are concerned about returning to work

  • 67.7% of aviation professionals are concerned about the future of their current job

 

  • 48.1% of aviation professionals have searched for a new job daily in the last 3 months

  • 53% of aviation professionals have applied for ‘up to 5’ jobs in the last 3 months

  • 17.7% of aviation professionals have applied for ‘between 5 and 10 jobs’ in the last 3 months
